Alpha Sigma Nu (ASN)
Alpha Sigma Nu is an international organization that honours exceptional students at Jesuit Colleges and Universities. The Campion College chapter was founded in 2006, but ASN has a history going back more than a century.
Students are invited to be members of Alph Sigma Nu on the basis of three criteria:
- Scholarship: In order to be considered for membership, students must have grades in the top 15% of their class.
- Loyalty: Candidates for ASN membership have demonstrated a commitment to the ideals of Jesuit education, which include striving and engaging with the world.
- Service: Students nominated for ASN have a record of service to others, either within the University or in the wider community.
Because it is composed entirely of senior students, the Campion chapter of Alpha Sigma Nu looks a little different each year. Some past ASN events have included:
- Fundraisers and clothing drives
- “Study Jams” during midterm season
- Collaborating with other student groups to support their events
- Attending gatherings with other ASN chapters.

I want to be part of ASN, how do I sign up?
Invitations to apply go out to your uregina email address in the Winter semester. If you need more information about the application process, contact sarah.greenwood@uregina.ca.
I got an invitation to apply for membership -- should I apply?
If you were invited to apply, it means that you are in the top 15% of Campion students at your level (congratulations!). We would love to recognize your scholarly achievements, as well as your demonstrations of loyalty and service, by having you as a part of our Alpha Sigma Nu Chapter. ASN is a legitimate organization, and we welcome applications from students of all different backgrounds. You might just be the future leader that our ASN Chapter needs!
Do you have to be Catholic to participate?
No — like Campion College, Alpha Sigma Nu has a Catholic identity, but welcomes students from all faith traditions and students who have no faith tradition.
New ASN members take a pledge, shown here, that articulates the mission and values of the organization. See if it resonates with you!
If I join ASN, what will we actually do?
Because we recruit students who are academic high-achievers and who care about serving others, ASN students are usually already really busy! That means that we work hard to create Chapter activities that don’t place an excessive burden on your time. If you have a lot going on, ASN might just be a group that you can invite to the events you’re already planning. If you want to take on the challenge of planning activities with ASN, the Chapter Coordinator is there to help you make them happen.
