Continuing Scholarship Application

Campion College continuing scholarships are generally awarded to students who have distinguished themselves in their studies; however, the criteria for awards do vary from academic excellence to financial need and extra-curricular involvement. We also have many continuing scholarships which are awarded without the need for applications.

All Campion College scholarships are awarded in the Fall. The application deadline for Fall 2026 is February 15, 2026.

Application Required Scholarships

How to apply:

    1. Look at all scholarships and make note of the ones you wish to apply for.
    2. Review the criteria for each award and make note of what they require.
      1. Personal statement: tell the selection committee why you would be an appropriate recipient for the award(s) for which you have applied, a maximum of 500 words. Have this statement written and ready to upload.
      2. Financial information: this will include a list of expenses and methods of financing. Have this information ready to input into the application form.
      3. Volunteer and extracurricular activities: this will require you to list organizations, dates, and hours of service. Have this information ready to input into the application form.
      4. Some awards will also require additional letters of support or specific essays. Have these saved and ready to upload.
    3. Fill in the online application.
    4. Complete the form and be sure to include all relevant sections and attachments for the scholarship(s) for which you are applying.
    5. Simply submit it at the end. NOTE: You can save your progress and return to your online application.
    6. When you submit, you should receive an email to the address you provided with an acknowledgement of receipt of your application.

Credit hours: In most cases where a credit hour range is given, especially in the case of bursaries, the required hours must be completed by the beginning of the term in which the award is given. In cases where criteria are academic and full-time study or a full-course load is required, credit hours must be completed by the end of the winter semester.

Unless otherwise indicated, recipients must register in the Fall semester as a full-time student as defined by the University of Regina.

This scholarship was established by Reverend Reed to support students in Campion’s Pre-Professional programs. Rev. Reed’s familial connections to Saskatchewan inspired him to establish the scholarship fund in memory of his late mother, Anne Katherine McCreight, who taught in two rural one-room schools in the R. M. of Loreburn, Saskatchewan in the late 1920s and early 1930s as the Great Depression and the “dust bowl” began to devastate the lives of farm families in the province. Most of her students were impoverished, and she provided not only for their intellectual growth, but also, as best she could, for their material and physical well-being.

The recipient of this scholarship must provide a personal statement outlining personal and career goals and be registered as a full-time Campion student in the upcoming Fall semester.

This bursary was established by Anthony Riffel and the estate of Anita Riffel to support continuing Campion students who are single parents at risk of discontinuing their studies without financial assistance. The recipient of this scholarship must be continuing as a full-time Campion student in the upcoming Fall semester. The bursary will be given to the recipient in two installments – one normally in September and the other normally in January. To be eligible for the second installment, the student must continue to be a full-time Campion College student in good academic standing in the Winter term.

Bursary installments:

  • $2,500 in September ($1,250 applied to recipient’s student account for tuition and fees and $1,250 personal cheque with no stipulations as to its use)
  • $2,500 in January ($1,250 applied to recipient’s student account for tuition and fees and $1,250 personal cheque with no stipulations as to its use)

This scholarship, donated by the Archbishop of Regina, is awarded to a Campion student who has successfully completed at least one year of full-time study and who is majoring in either Philosophy or Religious Studies.

Although the award is open to any student who fulfills the academic criteria, preference will be given to those from the Archdiocese of Regina who have expressed an intention to enter the priesthood or religious life.

This scholarship recipient must continue as a full-time Campion student in the upcoming Fall semester.

This scholarship, provided by the Archdiocese of Regina, is awarded to a Campion student who has successfully completed at least one year of full-time study, has demonstrated academic aptitude, and has been active in the religious life of a parish or of the College.

Preference will be given to students from the Archdiocese who have completed classes in Philosophy or Religious Studies.

This scholarship recipient must continue as a full-time Campion student in the upcoming Fall semester.

Campion College recognizes the need for support among refugees arriving in Canada and is following its mission to promote social justice and provide care for the whole person by providing the financial assistance and support needed to a refugee student attending the University. This bursary is awarded in the Fall semester to an entering or continuing student registered at the University of Regina, through Campion College, and has legally entered Canada as a refugee.

To apply for this bursary applicants need:
  • a minimum average of 70% (or 65% if they are a continuing student),
  • a personal statement (300 – 500 words maximum) that addresses their experience as a refugee,
  • verification of refugee status (i.e., refugee claimant form or a letter of support written by a teacher, guidance counsellor, principal, or an employee of the Regina Open Door Society or Catholic Family Services who can support the applicant’s refugee status).
Additionally, depending on the number of applicants, level of financial need will be considered in the decision process.

Students already receiving educational financial assistance from World University Service of Canada (WUSC) or any other agency are not eligible to receive this bursary.
This scholarship will be disbursed in two installments: one in September and one in January.

This bursary, established by the Campion College Students’ Union, is awarded to a Campion student in financial need who meets the following criteria:

  • has completed at least 24 credit hours;
  • has a minimum UGPA of 65%; and
  • is continuing as a full-time Campion student in the Fall semester.

The Campion Knights Bursary was established by the Campion College Knights of Columbus Council #15955 and is intended to aid alumni of the Mother Teresa Middle School in Regina, but is open to other applicants.

The bursary is awarded to entrance or continuing students based on financial need, but other criteria, such as involvement with the Knights of Columbus, academic grades, and community service, will be considered as well. The student must be registered for full-time study in the upcoming Fall semester as defined by the University of Regina.

This bursary is awarded annually to a Campion student who meets the following criteria:

  • has completed at least 24 credit hours;
  • is registered in at least 12 credit hours in the upcoming Fall semester; and
  • has a minimum 70% average.

Financial need is the main criterion for this bursary.

This bursary was established by the late Father John M. Riffel in memory of his wife and of their pioneer parents, Anton and Katherina Riffel, and Benedict and Magdalena Deis.

The bursary is awarded to a Campion student who meets the following criteria:

  • has completed at least 24 credit hours with a UGPA of at least 70%, and
  • is continuing as a full-time Campion student in the upcoming Fall semester.

This bursary is based on financial need, academic achievement, and extra-curricular activities and is awarded annually in September.

This award has been established in honour of Dr. Kenneth L. McGovern, past president of Campion College and long-time professor of Philosophy.

This bursary will be awarded to a Campion student in the Humanities who meets the following criteria:

  • has completed at least 30 credit hours;
  • has a minimum 70% UGPA; and
  • remains registered in at least 12 credit hours in the upcoming Fall semester.

Financial need is the primary criterion, but academic performance and extra-curricular activities may also be considered.

Preferential consideration will be given to Philosophy majors.

This scholarship was established by friends and family in memory of Elizabeth and George Watson, friends of Campion College.

This scholarship will be awarded to a Campion student who meets the following criteria:

  • has completed at least 24 credit hours;
  • has a UGPA of at least 75%; and
  • is registered in at least nine credit hours in the upcoming Fall semester.

Academic achievement is the main criterion, but financial need and extra-curricular activities are also used to evaluate the application.

This scholarship was established by Richard Emond, an alumnus of Campion who received BA degrees in both Religious Studies and Psychology.

This scholarship will be awarded to a student who meets the following criteria:

  • a student pursuing a degree in Psychology;
  • continuing as a full-time Campion student in the upcoming Fall semester;
  • has successfully completed Year 2 of studies (as defined by the University of Regina); and
  • has achieved a minimum 70% UGPA.

Preference will be given to those with a minor in Religious Studies or who have completed or are registered in at least three courses in Religious Studies and who actively display the Jesuit model of service to the world.

An essay of 250-500 words describing the value and meaning of the Jesuit model of service and how the applicant serves their community.

It was established by Richard Emond, an alumnus of Campion who received BA degrees in both Religious Studies and Psychology.

The Emond Scholarship in Religious Studies will be awarded to a student who meets the following criteria:

  • pursuing a degree in Religious Studies;
  • continuing as a full-time Campion student in the upcoming Fall semester;
  • has successfully completed Year 2 of studies (as defined by the University of Regina); and
  • has achieved a minimum 70% UGPA.

Preference will be given to those with a minor in Psychology or who have completed or are registered in at least three courses in Psychology and who actively display the Jesuit model of service to the world.

An essay of 250-500 words describing the value and meaning of the Jesuit model of service and how the applicant serves their community.

The Environmental Impact Scholarship is a way to promote awareness about environmental concerns and how students can make a difference.

This scholarship will be awarded to a full-time continuing students registered through Campion College enrolled in classes focused on sustainability or the environment. Preference will be given to students doing an honours thesis with an environmental focus or those pursuing the Certificate in Sustainability.

Required:
A personal statement regarding your relationship with environmental, sustainability, and/or climate change issues including a description of your work in this area and the impact is has had on the community as per the eligibility criteria. Maximum total 750 words.

The Father Don McNeil Scholarship is funded by the Cosmopolitan Clothing Bank Inc (operating as the Blue Mantle), a registered charitable organization whose mandate was to collect used clothing, furniture, and housewares and then to provide these goods to individuals and families in need of them at little to no cost.

Fr. Don was instrumental in helping initiate the Blue Mantle as a ministry to the poor, managed it as a volunteer and long-time Director, and worked to sustain it through fund-raising and community outreach. The impact of all who benefited from the Blue Mantle is still felt, and in Fr. Don’s memory, this scholarship will continue to make a difference.

This scholarship is for continuing students registered through Campion College enrolled in Human Justice or Police Studies.

This scholarship will be awarded annually to the full-time student(s) registered through Campion who meets the following criteria:

  • is currently enrolled at Campion College in the upcoming Fall term;
  • is pursuing a degree in Human Justice or Police Studies; and
  • has achieved a minimum 70% overall average at the end of Year 1.

Preference will be given to students who actively display the Jesuit model of service to the world. If only one applicant is eligible, that applicant will receive the full amount of two scholarships worth $4,000.

Required:
A personal statement regarding your volunteer work and how you will use your degree to make a social impact on the community as per the eligibility criteria above. Maximum 1,000 words.

This scholarship was established by Herb Herauf for continuing Campion College students who are active in College life and meet the following criteria:

  • has a minimum UPGP of 80%; and
  • is continuing as a full-time Campion student in the upcoming Fall semester.

This scholarship is in recognition of the important role that music played in both Jake and Mary Volk’s lives; preference will be given to a student majoring in Music.

This scholarship is awarded annually in the Fall to a Campion student who meets the following criteria:

  • has completed at least 30 credit hours;
  • has a minimum 75% UGPA; and
  • is registered in at least 12 credit hours per semester in the upcoming Fall and Winter.

Academic achievement and financial need will be the main criteria.

The scholarship is awarded in two installments of $1,250, the first to be given in September and the second in January.

This award is endowed by friends and family of Jamie Morrison, who was a student at Campion, and by the Campion College Alumni Association.

This scholarship is awarded to a Campion College student working towards a pre-veterinary or pre-medicine program who meets the following criteria:

  • has completed at least 30 credit hours, and
  • must be registered as a full-time student (as defined by the University of Regina) in the upcoming Fall semester.

While academic achievement is the main criterion for the award, financial need and extra-curricular activities will also be considered.

The recipient of this scholarship must be a full-time student at Campion College during the upcoming Fall semester.

In the generous spirit of the Knights of Columbus, this bursary has been established to provide financial assistance to Campion College students who have shown academic perseverance based on financial need, academic achievement, and volunteer activities.

This bursary is awarded annually in the Fall to a Campion student who meets the following criteria:

  • has successfully completed the Arts Transition Program, Academic Recovery Program, or Arts Qualifying Year, and
  • is continuing as a full-time Campion student in the upcoming Fall semester.

This bursary is awarded annually in the Fall to a Campion College student who meets the following criteria:

  • has completed at least 30 credit hours, and

This scholarship is awarded to the most promising Campion student in the Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance with preference to those majoring in Music.

This scholarship will be awarded to a student who meets the following criteria:

  • a senior student must have a UGPA that exceeds 75%, and
  • is continuing as a full-time Campion student in the upcoming Fall semester.

One Kovacs Memorial Scholarship is awarded each year to either an entrance or a senior Campion student in the Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance.

This bursary was established by Reverend Joseph C. Deutscher in memory of his sister, who dedicated her life to children as a school teacher.

This bursary will be awarded to a Campion student who meets the following criteria:

  • has completed at least 30 credit hours;
  • is a member of a Roman Catholic parish; and
  • is a full-time student at Campion College during the upcoming Fall semester.

The applicant will be selected based on financial need, academic achievement, and extra-curricular activities. Preferential consideration will be given to female students and/or to students interested in a future career in teaching.

This bursary is awarded to a female Campion student who meets the following criteria:

  • is continuing full-time during the upcoming Fall semester.

Financial need will be the main criterion, but academic achievement and extra-curricular activities may also be used to evaluate the applicants. Preference will be given to students in Women’s and Gender Studies.

The applicant will be selected based on financial need, academic achievement, and extra-curricular activities.

This scholarship will be awarded to a Campion student in the final year of an Honours program in Psychology who meets the following criteria:

  • is registered in at least 12 credit hours per semester during the upcoming Fall and Winter; and
  • is seriously planning to continue in a career in Psychology.

The scholarship is awarded in two installments of $1,250, the first to be given in September and the second in January.

This award has been established in honour of Dr. Jos. B. Gavin, SJ, past president of Campion College and professor of History and Religious Studies.

This scholarship will be awarded to a Campion Arts student who meets the following criteria:

  • has completed at least 60 credit hours;
  • has a minimum 70% UGPA; and
  • remains registered in at least 12 credit hours throughout the upcoming Fall semester.

Academic achievement is the main criterion, but financial need and extra-curricular activities will also be considered. Preference is given to students majoring in Religious Studies, History, or Human Justice.

This bursary has been established in honour of Dr. Joseph G. Schner, SJ, past president of Campion College and long-time professor of Psychology.

This scholarship will be awarded to a Campion student majoring in Psychology who meets the following criteria:

  • has completed at least 60 credit hours;
  • has a minimum 70% UGPA; and
  • remains registered in at least 12 credit hours throughout the semester in which the bursary is awarded.

Financial need is the primary criterion but academic performance and extra-curricular activities may be considered as well.

Financial need is the primary criterion, but academic performance will also be taken into consideration.

This bursary was established by alumna Patricia (John) Sinclair and alumna Genevieve Salamon (Glen Gunther).

This bursary is awarded to a female Campion student who meets the following criteria:

  • was admitted to the university as a mature student (as defined by the University of Regina);
  • has completed a minimum of 60 credit hours and not more than 90 credit hours;
  • is registered in the upcoming Fall semester at Campion College as a full-time student (as defined by the University of Regina);
  • has achieved a minimum 70% overall grade point average; and
  • is pursuing a degree with a major in the areas of Anthropology, French, Economics, English, Geography, History, Human Justice, International Studies, Philosophy, Police Studies, Psychology, Religious Studies, or Sociology.

This bursary is in memory of Stuart Lefebvre, a Campion Science student who was a shining example of courage and determination in his life-long battle with cancer and the complications from its treatment. Established by his family and friends.

This bursary is awarded annually in the Fall to a Campion student who has faced serious illness, disability, or other major life challenge, in the same spirit.

This bursary will be awarded to a student who meets the following criteria:

  • a minimum UGPA of 65%, and
  • must be registered in at least six credit hours during the upcoming Fall semester.

This bursary was established by Susan Haddad and her family, all alumni of Campion College.

This bursary will be awarded to a Campion College student who meets the following criteria:

  • has completed at least 30 credit hours, and
  • is registered in at least 12 credit hours in the upcoming Fall semester.

Financial need is the main criterion, but the applicant must have a minimum 75% average.

Willemyna Smit founded the Wayne Paul Devlin Memorial Scholarship to honour the important role Campion had in Wayne’s life. Willemyna’s generous donation will have a lasting impact on the students of Campion College.

This scholarship of $2,000 will be awarded annually to the full-time student registered through Campion who meets the following criteria:

  • is registered as a full-time student (as defined by the University of Regina) in the fall semester in which the scholarship is awarded;
  • preference will be given to students from outside of Saskatchewan; and
  • preference will be given to a student registered in the Faculty of Science.

Automatically Awarded Scholarships

The following scholarships are automatically awarded and no applications are required.

This scholarship is donated by the honor society for Jesuit institutions of higher education, Alpha Sigma Nu, advancing scholarship, loyalty, and service through chapters at the Jesuit institutions of higher education in the US, Canada, and South Korea.

The recipient of this scholarship must:

  • be a member of Alpha Sigma Nu, and
  • be continuing as a full-time student in the upcoming Fall semester.

Selection is based on academic achievement.

This award was established in honour of a former Jesuit.

This scholarship is awarded to a Campion student who meets the following criteria:

  • has the highest UGPA among those who have completed at least nine credit hours in Canadian History;
  • will have at least 30 credit hours left to complete their degrees; and
  • is continuing as a full-time student during the upcoming Fall semester.

It is meant to encourage study in that area of history and to help in the purchase of textbooks. If there is no Campion student deserving of the award in any given year, it will be awarded to a non-Campion student.

This prize is awarded to a University of Regina student, not necessarily from Campion, who writes the best term paper in a Canadian History class taken during the previous academic year. It is awarded in the form of a $50 gift certificate to the University of Regina Bookstore.

This scholarship, established in honour of a former Jesuit, is awarded to a Campion student who has declared their major as History.

This scholarship is awarded to a Campion student who meets the following criteria:

  • has declared their major as History and has the highest UGPA of students majoring in that area;
  • at least 60 and no more than 90 credit hours of courses must have been completed; and
  • is continuing as a full-time student during the upcoming Fall semester.

This scholarship, established in honour of a former Jesuit, is awarded to a Campion student who has declared their major as Music.

This scholarship is awarded to a Campion student who meets the following criteria:

  • has declared their major as Music and has the highest UGPA of students majoring in that area;
  • at least 60 and no more than 90 credit hours of courses must have been completed; and
  • is continuing as a full-time student during the upcoming Fall semester.

Must be a member of the Campion College Students’ Union.

This bursary is awarded to a Campion student who is participating in a Campion College Study Tour course.

This prize is awarded to a first-year student with the highest average in 30 credit hours taken over the past two semesters.

On the occasion of the 400th anniversary of the death of Edmund Campion, the College established a scholarship to be awarded to the continuing Campion student who meets the following criteria:

  • achieves the highest average in 30 credit hours over the past two semesters;
  • having completed at least 60 and not more than 90 credit hours; and
  • is continuing as a full-time student at Campion College during the upcoming Fall semester.

This prize was established in honour of the mother of Rev. Don Flynn, SJ, and is funded by a gift from her estate.

It is awarded to a Campion student who meets the following criteria:

  • has declared a major in French;
  • completed at least 60 hours of classes; and
  • maintained the highest UGPA of students majoring in that area.

It is awarded in the form of a $150 gift certificate to the University of Regina Bookstore.

This prize is awarded to a University of Regina student, not necessarily from Campion, who was outstanding in a Campion College English 100 or 110 class taken in the previous academic year.

This scholarship is awarded in the fall to the Campion student who achieved the highest grade of 80% or above in a second-year medieval history course in the preceding academic year.

If no Campion student achieves a grade of 80% or above in any of these courses, the award is to go to whichever student obtained the highest grade in these courses as long as the mark is 80% or above.

The recipient of this scholarship must be continuing as a full-time student during the upcoming Fall semester.

This prize is awarded to a University of Regina student, not necessarily from Campion, who was outstanding in a Campion College History 100-level class taken in the previous academic year.

This scholarship is awarded in the Fall to a Campion student who meets the following criteria:

  • is a declared major in Classical and Medieval Studies (CMST);
  • has completed at least two courses in the CMST program; and
  • must be continuing as a full-time student in the upcoming Fall semester, registered in at least one course from the CMST program.

The scholarship will be awarded to the Campion student with the highest program average of 80% or above amongst CMST majors.

If no Campion CMST major has a program average of 80% or above, the scholarship will go to whichever CMST major has the highest program average of 80% or above.

These scholarships are made possible by Michael Zerr’s friends and associates at the Sask. Liquor and Gaming Authority. Michael Zerr was an alumnus of Campion College.

The Michael Zerr Memorial Scholarships are awarded to two Campion students who meets the following criteria:

  • have completed at least 30 but not more than 45 credit hours;
  • with the highest UGPA among students with second-year standing; and
  • is registered in at least 12 credit hours in the upcoming Fall semester.

These scholarships are made possible by the generosity of Paul and Carol Hill.

These scholarships are awarded each Fall to full-time Campion students who meets the following criteria:

  • has declared themselves as minors in the Catholic Studies Program, and
  • has minimum UGPA of 70%.

Preference will be given to Athol Murray College of Notre Dame graduates in Wilcox, Saskatchewan.

Scholars will receive $500 for one course that satisfies the requirements of the minor in Catholic Studies, or $1,000 for two or more such courses in a single semester. A maximum of $2,500 per student may be awarded over the student’s program.

In the absence of eligible Campion students, the awards may be given to those students with the highest grades in a Catholic Studies course taken through Campion College in the preceding academic year.

This prize is awarded to a University of Regina student, not necessarily from Campion, who was outstanding in a Campion College Philosophy 100-level class taken in the previous academic year.

This award is made possible by Dr. J. W. Tomecko, an alumnus of Campion High School and a professor of Father MacDougall, former Principal and Rector of Campion.

This scholarship is awarded to a Campion student who:

  • has completed between 60 and 90 credit hours, is a major in English, and
  • has the highest UGPA among students in that discipline.

Established by Dr. Thomas Rendall, former professor at Campion College, this prize is given in memory of Desmond P. Burke-Gaffney, SJ, who was Dean of Campion College from 1969 to 1976. The prize is a $50 gift card for the University Bookstore awarded to a student (not necessarily a Campion student) who writes the best term paper in any Shakespeare or Milton class taken during the previous academic year.

This scholarship is given in memory of Desmond P. Burke-Gaffney, SJ, Dean of Campion College from 1969 to 1976. It is awarded to a Campion student pursuing studies in the Humanities, having completed at least 60 and not more than 90 credit hours, and having the highest UGPA of students in that area of study.

The Nash scholarships honour Father E. Peter W. Nash, SJ, PH.D., the first President of Campion College. This award is presented to Campion students who meets the following criteria:

  • has completed at least 60 and not more than 90 credit hours, with the highest UGPA in MAP, and
  • is continuing as a full-time student at Campion College during the upcoming Fall semester.

The Nash scholarships honour Father E. Peter W. Nash, SJ, PH.D., the first President of Campion College. This award is presented to Campion students who meets the following criteria:

  • has completed at least 60 and not more than 90 credit hours, with the highest UGPA in Natural Sciences, and
  • is continuing as a full-time student at Campion College during the upcoming Fall semester.

The Nash scholarships honour Father E. Peter W. Nash, SJ, PH.D., the first President of Campion College. This award is presented to Campion students who meets the following criteria:

  • has completed at least 60 and not more than 90 credit hours, with the highest UGPA in Social Sciences, and
  • is continuing as a full-time student at Campion College during the upcoming Fall semester.

Established in memory of Thos. O’D. Hanley, SJ, former Dean and professor of Physics at Campion College.

This scholarship is awarded to a Campion student who meets the following criteria:

  • has declared Physics as a major and completed at least 30 and not more than 90 credit hours;
  • has achieved the highest UGPA in that major; and
  • is continuing as a full-time student at Campion College during the upcoming Fall semester.
