Doug McKillop, HS ’72

Doug McKillop is a community-minded, lifelong resident of Saskatchewan and graduate of Campion High School. Greatly influenced by a mentor teacher who cemented his commitment to becoming a Chartered Professional Accountant, Doug pursued a Bachelor of Administration at the University of Regina, but spent most of his time at Campion taking part in community events. He graduated in 1976 and excelled in his professional life, earning his distinction as a Fellow Chartered Accountant in 2008 and completing the ICD.D Director’s Education Program at the University of Toronto’s Rotman School of Management in 2017.

Over his career, Doug worked for the Saskatchewan Department of Finance, Virtus Group, was a committee member of CPA Saskatchewan, and was Saskatchewan’s representative on the Canada Revenue Agency’s Tax Professionals Advisory Committee. He is also a member of the Leaders Council to the Hill and Levene Schools of Business at the University of Regina.

As an avid sports enthusiast, Doug is a life member, contributor, and board member of the U of R Rams Football Club. He has also acted as Vice President for both the Western Canada Summer Games and Saskatchewan Sport.

Doug’s sense of community grew out of his experience at Campion which he aims to combine with his strong professional and volunteer involvement. His hope is to leave a legacy for his friends and family and make the place he calls home better for all.
