The Campion College Library is accepting applications for a part-time Student Assistant position for the Winter 2022 semester (with possibility of extension in the Fall 2022 semester). Interested applicants must be registered Campion College students. The successful applicant will work on average two evening/weekend shifts a week throughout the fall semester (shifts are generally 4-5 hours long), with occasional additional shifts in the library or elsewhere in the College.

Student assistants are responsible for keeping the library operational during the absence of the Librarian and Library Assistant. Library tasks include assisting patrons at the circulation desk, shelving books, opening/closing the library, troubleshooting basic printer and computer issues, minor cleaning tasks, potentially checking patrons’ vaccine status, and other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will be an independent worker with some familiarity with libraries, library resources, and computer equipment, and will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Student assistants will also be asked to provide staffing support in other areas of the College (including, for instance, reception work or invigilating exams), so flexibility and willingness to learn are important skills.
