Actuarial Science

Are you a math and statistics whiz who is interested in projecting potential outcomes? Actuaries touch all aspects of our lives, from designing insurance and pension programs to working with professional sport teams.
This program will give you a strong statistical and mathematical background in preparation for most of the courses required by the Society of Actuaries and the Casualty Actuarial Society. The program involves a one-year internship so you can gain work experience before completing your undergraduate degree.

This program requires completion of a two-year diploma from another institution.
Environmental Biology enables you to explore contemporary environmental issues and learn how to monitor, assess and manage the use of natural resources, apply mapping and remote sensing techniques and conduct research.
You enter this program in your third year following the completion of one of the following programs: the Integrated Resource Management Diploma from SIAST (Woodland Campus), the Diploma in Renewable Resource Management from Lethbridge College, or the Environmental Sciences Diploma with a Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation major from Lakeland College. This means you complete the first two years at either SIAST, Lethbridge College or Lakeland College and then complete the final two years at the University of Regina.
Students who do not have the required diploma from SIAST or Lakeland College may choose to pursue the BSc in Biology (Ecology & Environmental Biology Concentration).

Geology is the study of the processes and physical structure of the earth. As a geology student you will learn about the history of the earth, the materials we take from the earth and about the many different processes that impact our earth. This program takes a very practical approach and you will take advantage of the university’s access to drill core (rock samples) and other material provided by the Subsurface Geological Laboratory. Laboratory projects commonly examine practical problems and apply techniques used by working geologists.

The medical imaging program trains you to understand and apply the principles of science and medicine as they relate to medical radiography. You will become skilled in the techniques and equipment used in diagnostic imaging departments.
