Pre-Agriculture & Bioresources
Pre-professional programs help prepare students for admission to a specialized program at another institution.
The Bachelor of Science in Agriculture at the University of Saskatchewan is a four-year program, of which the first year may be completed at the University of Regina. Students will apply to the University of Saskatchewan for admission to the College of Agriculture per University of Saskatchewan regulations and the application deadline dates during their first year. The courses completed at the University of Regina as part of this program can be used toward a variety of degree programs at the University of Regina.
Pre-Chiropractic Medicine
Pre-professional programs help prepare students for admission to a specialized program at another institution.
Students can complete the qualifying university requirements for the Chiropractic program at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). Students are required to complete a minimum of three years (90 credit hours) of undergraduate university study in any discipline prior to admission to the Chiropractic program. Although there are no specific required courses, CMCC does recommend courses in specific subject areas. The Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) at the CMCC is a four-year program following admission. The CMCC welcomes applications from Canadian and international students. The courses completed at the University of Regina as part of this program can be used toward a variety of degree programs at the University of Regina.
Pre-Dentistry
Pre-professional programs help prepare students for admission to a specialized program at another institution.
Students can complete the pre-dentistry requirements for the University of Saskatchewan College of Dentistry at the University of Regina. Students are eligible to apply to the College of Dentistry after three academic years each consisting of three standard academic terms of eight consecutive months (September to April). (Please see the College of Dentistry web page for requirements.) Specific courses are required. All applicants must take the Dental Aptitude Test administered by the Canadian Dental Association. Pre-dentistry courses completed at the University of Regina can be used toward a variety of programs at the University of Regina.
Pre-Medicine
Pre-professional programs help prepare students for admission to a specialized program at another institution.
Students can complete the pre-medicine requirements for the University of Saskatchewan MD Degree at the University of Regina. Students must complete a 4-year baccalaureate preparatory degree to be eligible to apply to the College of Medicine. As well, students will be required to write the MCAT for admission. The most up-to-date requirements and notice of upcoming changes will be posted on the College of Medicine website at www.usask.ca/medicine.
Students looking to apply to medical schools other than the U of S are able to complete their pre-med requirements here but should check the various medical schools for their particular admission requirements. These students are welcome to consult with our advisors to ensure they get everything they need. Pre-medicine courses completed at the University of Regina can be used toward a variety of programs at the University of Regina.
Pre-Law
Pre-professional programs help prepare students for admission to a specialized program at another institution.
The Pre-Law program allows you to meet the course requirements for Law School admission to the University of Saskatchewan. Students are required to take 60 credit hours of courses, the equivalent of two years of full-time University courses before being eligible to apply. The University of Regina’s small classes and student-to-professor ratio make this the ideal school to take your Pre-Law courses.
Pre-Nutrition
Pre-professional programs help prepare students for admission to a specialized program at another institution.
Students can complete the pre-nutrition requirements for the Nutrition program at the University of Saskatchewan at the University of Regina. Students are eligible to apply to the Nutrition program after completion of 30 credits hours of specific course requirements. Pre-nutrition courses completed at the University of Regina can be used toward a variety of programs at the University of Regina.
Pre-Occupational Therapy
Pre-professional programs help prepare students for admission to a specialized program at another institution.
Occupational Therapy is a Master of Science program at the University of Alberta. Applicants are eligible to apply after completing a four-year bachelor’s degree in any discipline, which includes at least two years of full-time study. Specific pre-requisite courses may be required.
Pre-Optometry
Pre-professional programs help prepare students for admission to a specialized program at another institution.
Students can complete the pre-optometry requirements for the Optometry program at the University of Waterloo through the Faculty of Science at the University of Regina. Students are eligible to apply to the University of Waterloo after three years of specified pre-optometry courses. Pre-optometry courses completed at the University of Regina can be used toward a BSc at the University of Regina.
Pre-Pharmacy
Pre-professional programs help prepare students for admission to a specialized program at another institution.
At the University of Regina, students can complete the pre-pharmacy requirements for the College of Pharmacy at the University of Saskatchewan. Students are eligible to apply to the University of Saskatchewan after the completion of 60 credit hours of specified courses. Pre-pharmacy courses completed at the University of Regina can be used toward a variety of programs at the University of Regina.
Pre-Physical Therapy
Pre-professional programs help prepare students for admission to a specialized program at another institution.
The School of Physical Therapy at the University of Saskatchewan has implemented a Master of Physical Therapy program. Applicants are eligible to apply to the School of Physical Therapy after the completion of a four-year baccalaureate degree in any discipline, with a specific focus on the most recent 60 credits hours of academic study (September-April). Some specific pre-requisite courses are required.
Pre-Veterinary Medicine
Pre-professional programs help prepare students for admission to a specialized program at another institution.
University of Regina students can complete the admission requirements for the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan. Students are eligible to apply to the University of Saskatchewan after the completion of 60 credit hours of required and elective courses. Pre-veterinary courses completed at the University of Regina can be used toward a degree in science at the University of Regina.
Social Work
Degree: Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Indian Social Work, Certificate in Social Work, Certificate in Indian Social Work. Certificate in Social Work is available only at Aurora College campus in Yellowknife, NT.
If you are passionate about helping individuals, families, and communities reach their full potential, consider our social work program. You will learn how to counsel individuals and facilitate groups, analyze social policy and programs, develop and administer social programs, empower community groups, conduct social research and write organized reports.
Students wishing to complete their first year of study through Campion College will enroll in Campion-Arts, and transfer to the Faculty of Social Work for the remainder of their degree program.
