Entrance Scholarships

Scholarships for which application is required.

Recipients must register in 12 credit hours, unless otherwise indicated.

Please read and follow the instructions below for submitting your application form. The application form is a pdf form that requires Adobe Reader.

To submit your application form:

1. Download the form to your computer/electronic device.
2. Complete the form. Be sure to include all relevant information for the scholarship(s) for which you are applying.
3. Save the form to your computer/electronic device, and either print and return to the Campion Registrar's Office (Room 301, Campion College) or attach the file in an email to  campion.registrar@uregina.ca

Dr. John M. and Regina Riffel Entrance Bursary

  $750.00

This bursary was established by Father John M. Riffel in memory of his wife and of their pioneer parents, Anton and Katherina Riffel, and Benedict and Magdalena Deis. The bursary is awarded annually in September to a first-year Campion student with a minimum 75% from Grade XII. The bursary is based on financial need, academic achievement, and extra-curricular activities.


 

Harold J. Leibel Family Entrance Scholarship

2 @ $1,000.00

These scholarships, established by Harold and Shirley Leibel and family, are awarded to first-year Campion students with a minimum 80% average from Grade XII. The scholarship is based primarily on academic achievement, but the applicants' financial need and extra-curricular activities will also be taken into consideration. Applicants must be residents of Saskatchewan and must be registered in 15 credit hours.


 

Jesuit Fathers Entrance Bursaries

2 @ $500.00

These bursaries are awarded to first-year Campion students with a minimum 75% average from Grade XII, and are based on financial need, academic achievement, and extra-curricular activities.


 

Knights of Columbus, Conseil Langevin, Scholarship

$250.00

First-year Campion students applying for this scholarship must have received the highest mark (at least 75%) in Grade XII French among the applicants, and be registered in a French course. Preference will be given to those intending to major in French.


 

Kramer Ltd. Foundation (South Saskatchewan Community Foundation) Scholarship

 $6,000.00  

This scholarship is made possible by Mr. and Mrs. Don Kramer and their family. It is designated for a first-year Campion student from rural Saskatchewan. Applicants must have a minimum 80% average from high school, and must be registered in 15 credit hours. The applicant should outline in her/his personal statement her/his circumstances, plans for the future, leadership activities, special skills, community activities, talents, etc. As well, a letter of reference from someone who is not a relative is required.


 

Kovacs Voice Entrance and Senior Scholarship

 $1,000.00

This scholarship will be awarded to the most promising Campion student who is majoring in Voice at the University of Regina. It is open to both entering students and senior students. An entering student who wishes to apply for this scholarship must have his/her high school music teacher or choir director send a letter of recommendation to the Scholarship Committee. A senior student who wishes to apply for this scholarship must have one of his/her music professors at the University of Regina send a letter of recommendation to the Scholarship Committee.

In order to be eligible for this scholarship, an entering student must have a high school average exceeding 75% and a senior student must have a U.G.P.A. that exceeds 75%.


 

Mary Volk Memorial Entrance Scholarship   

 $2,500.00

Awarded annually in the fall to an entering Campion Fine Arts student. Academic achievement, as indicated by the student’s early conditional average, and financial need will be the main criteria, and preference will be given to students majoring in Music. The recipient must be registered in at least 12 credit hours in the fall and winter semesters.


 

Paul and Carol Hill Scholars in Catholic Studies

The Paul and Carol Hill Scholarships in Catholic Studies are awarded each fall to full-time Campion students who have declared themselves as minors in the Catholic Studies program. Up to ten scholarships are awarded each year. Entering students must have a minimum high school average of 80%. Preference will be given to graduates of Athol Murray College of Notre Dame in Wilcox, Saskatchewan. Scholars will receive $500 for one course that satisfies the requirements of the minor in Catholic Studies, or $1,000 for two or more such courses in a single semester. A maximum of $2,500 per student may be awarded over the student's program. These scholarships are made possible by the generosity of Paul and Carol Hill.


 

Regina Archdiocesan Catholic Women's League Scholarship

$1,000.00

The Regina Archdiocesan Catholic Women's League offers a scholarship for a first-year Campion student whose mother is a CWL member, and who participates actively in their parish, school, or community.


 

Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus Bursaries

3 @ $1,000.00

These bursaries, donated by the Saskatchewan Knights of Columbus, are awarded primarily on the basis of financial need. Other criteria, such as academic grades, may be considered as well. The applicant must be a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Columbian Squires, or the spouse, child, or grandchild of a member or a deceased member of the Knights of Columbus.


 

Stuart Lefebvre Memorial Entrance & Continuing Bursaries

$1,000.00

These bursaries are in memory of Stuart Lefebvre, a Campion Science student who was a shining example of courage and determination in his lifelong battle with cancer and the complications from its treatment. Established by his family and friends, they are awarded annually in the fall to Campion students (either senior or entrance) who have faced serious illness, disability, or other major life challenge, in the same spirit. Financial need is not the primary criterion, but will be considered. Applicants must have a minimum average of 65%, must be registered in at least two classes, and must provide a letter of support from someone outside the family who is familiar with their situation.

Should the continuing scholarship not be awarded in a particular year due to a lack of applicants, two awards may go to entrance students instead, and vice versa.  

The Wolfe Family General Achievement Scholarship

 

$6,500 (renewable for up to
2 additional years)

This scholarship is made possible by the Wolfe Family. It is designated for a first-year Campion student graduating from a Saskatchewan high school. Applicants must have a minimum 90% admission average, demonstrate compassion through active service within the community, and show a commitment to athletics through involvement in sports. Four letters of reference are required, two confirming and describing the candidate’s compassionate activities (at least two hours weekly over 40 weeks during the prior year) and two confirming and describing the candidate’s participation in individual or team sports and/or athletics.

One entrance award valued at $6,500 will be awarded in 2017/2018. The deadline for application is April 30, 2017. Please complete the Wolfe Family Scholarship application form above if you wish to be considered for this scholarship.

First-year Campion College students who apply to the University of Regina by MARCH 15 for the following Fall semester (indicating Campion College as their campus of choice) are automatically eligible for the following entrance scholarships. (Students must register in a minimum of 12 credit hours at the University.)

This scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic performance to a Greenall High School (Balgonie) student entering Campion College in the Faculty of Science directly from Grade 12. This scholarship was established in the memory of the late Roy and Katherine Obrigewitsch by her family.


 

Reverend Isidore Gorski Memorial Scholarship

These scholarships are made possible by donations from friends of the late Father Isidore Gorski, former dean and long-time professor of Religious Studies at Campion College.


 

Reverend John Toth Scholarship

$500.00

This scholarship is donated by the Jesuit Fathers of Saskatchewan and is awarded to a first-year Campion student who is a Miller High School graduate with the highest mark in Grade 12 English.
