He graduated with a Bachelor of Administration in 1976. He was first certified as a Registered Industrial Accountant, later as a Certified Management Accountant in 1979. He became a Chartered Accountant in 1982, and finally, a Fellow Chartered Accountant in 2008.

Over his career, he worked for the Saskatchewan Department of Finance from 1976-1979. Next, he joined the Virtus Group where he currently works. Doug was a committee member of CPA Saskatchewan from 1985-2010 and was Saskatchewan’s representative on the Canada Revenue Agency’s Tax Professionals Advisory Committee from 2003 to 2006. He currently serves as a member of the Leaders Council to the Hill and Levene Schools of Business at the University of Regina. His sense of and need for community grew out of his experience at Campion and he feels Regina has been a great place to live. He has reaped many riches by being woven into the fabric of Regina. He believes his strong professional and volunteer involvement will leave a legacy for his friends, family, and will make the place he calls home better for all.
