Evelyn Muma, BSc. (Regina), DVM (Saskatoon)
Evelyn graduated from Campion College with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2013.
After completing her degree, she went on to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine (WCVM), at the University of Saskatchewan and completed her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in June 2017.
Evelyn felt at home at Campion early on. The classes were a cozy intimate place where you could connect with students and professors:
“I really enjoyed the small class sizes that Campion had to offer. It made it much easier to participate in the classes and allowed you to develop a more personal relationship with the professors. My favourite course in Campion College was English 100 taught by Barbara Lunney.”
Becoming a veterinarian for Evelyn is a dream realized and a personal milestone. One day, Evelyn wants to have a practice she calls her own. Also, she affirms that the only way to succeed and help others is to do the same and pay it forward:
“One of the ways I am giving back to my community is by helping undergraduate students with applying to veterinary school. Experience working in a veterinary clinic is a requirement for veterinary school applicants. I would not have gotten where I am today if veterinarians in Regina did not let me into their clinic to work and shadow with them. Now that I am a veterinarian, I promise to return the favor to future aspiring veterinarians.“
